Sheku Kanneh-Mason is a British cellist and the winner of the 2016 BBC Young Musician of the Year award. Early in 2017 Sheku approached Tom to arrange Leonard Cohen's 'Hallelujah', which he was to perform in the same year during the televised BAFTA award ceremony at the Royal Albert Hall. Tom's arrangement was featured on Sheku's first, self-titled release on Decca Classics alongside pieces by Fauré and Bloch. An accompanying music video for 'Hallelujah' was filmed at the iconic Abbey Road Studios.

Further down the road, Sheku asked Tom to provide an arrangement of 'The Swan', the penultimate movement of The Carnival of the Animals by Camille Saint-Saëns. 'The Swan' was released as a single, accompanied by a video premiered by The Telegraph. It features on Sheku's debut album Inspiration, alongside Tom's arrangements of 'Hallelujah' and 'Evening Of Roses'. The latter was performed by Sheku with his family at the 2018 BAFTA award ceremony, making him the first artist ever to have been asked to perform at the ceremony twice.
