RISE OF THE NAZIS: DICTATORS AT WAR

Director: Julian Jones
Production: 72 Films

After the success of the first season of three-part series Rise of the Nazis (for which Tom was nominated for an Ivor Novello Award), Tom rejoined forces with the team at 72 Films to compose the score for series two: Rise of the Nazis - Dictators at War.

Rebooting the material from series one with a tougher edge, the Dictators at War soundtrack retained the juxtaposition of classical source music with modern score. However, with the assistance of composer Bankey Ojo, Tom found his way to an even darker musical space, fundamentally reimagining the thematic material.

All series of Rise of the Nazis are available to watch now on BBC iPlayer.

The Telegraph: “This was an intelligent and surprising insight into evil that brought together expert commentators and some tasteful reconstructions”

The Times: “There’s not exactly a shortage of documentaries about Hitler and Stalin, so how do you make yet another new one distinct? Enter the former world chess champion Garry Kasparov, wearing a natty cravat, to provide an insight into the mind of Stalin, whom he painted as a private Hitler fanboy who reportedly admired the Night of the Long Knives, in Rise of the Nazis: Dictators at War.”
