Under the moniker Second Moon of Winter, Tom took up his clarinet and joined forces with opera singer Kim Sheehan and guitarist Ari Sheehan to create an intensely personal project from a series of interpretive and improvisational sessions. The result was a six track album entitled One For Sorrow, Two For Joy, recorded in a basement by the sea in County Cork in 2015. For the trio, the recording and live experience became interchangeable; there were no computers, no playback of samples, no overdubs, no further processing after the event. Each member's unique musical viewpoint, forged from years of individual experience, fuse to create a cohesive, contemplative whole.
