One of my classical works, Super Collider, recently recorded at Air Lyndhurst, has been chosen for the Independent's new hard-hitting 'Truth Matters' campaign, already causing a stir over in Rupert Murdoch's offices. The piece is for string quintet, piano and a selection of mallet instruments.

I've now finished scoring the music for Pimp, directed by Robert Cavanah and starring Danny Dyer. It is out in the cinemas and on DVD on the 21st May 2010. Look out for the soundtrack coming soon.

 

 

 

I have recently provided an original composition for the Ikea Kitchen Squad campaign- a series of mini-reality-TV shows starring unwitting members of the population who have their old kitchens ripped out and replaced by Ikea's kitchen squad.

I have recently started scoring the music for the feature film Pimp, starring Robert Cavanah (Lara Croft 2, Sahara) and Danny Dyer (Severance, Adulthood, Outlaw).

A massively exciting project in which a week in the life of Woody; a Soho pimp, is filmed by a documentary camera unit: a week that spirals brutally out of control.

Premiering later this year...

 

 

My 'heroic' orchestral version of that Boots favourite 'Here Come The Girls' is featured on the recent Boots Opticians campaign, featuring Toby Coles on trumpet.

World Premiere!

My solo piano piece, Four brief variations on a theme by Paganini, was given its world premiere by rising star Warren Mailley-Smith at St James, Picadilly on the 3rd December.

In a beautiful programme including Chopin and Gershwin favourites, I was delighted (if not rather intimidated) to be sandwiched between two such heavyweights as Beethoven and Rachmaninov.

However Warren did a magnificent job and my Paganini variations were generously received by the 400-strong audience. First performance of many I hope...

Much of my summer has been spent working on my forthcoming album Super Collider due for release early next year. Here is a little taster: Hikkaduwa. It is scored for string quintet, vibraphone, glockenspiel and an announcement captured on an Indian train platform!
